Completion Date: August 2008
Project Size: 67,600 SF Renovation
The concept of this renovation project was to reuse an existing Middle School as an Elementary School. This involved work such as adding sinks to each classroom, new casework specific to Elementary needs and new finishes throughout. Several spaces were removed and reconfigured including the Administrative offices, Library and Commons Area. This was done to increase student and staff safety, provide clearer wayfinding inside the building and create a much more inviting space upon entry. A small addition of a canopy at the main entry increased visibility of the entrance and helped with wayfinding on the site. The entire parking area was redesigned and laid out to increase student and staff safety as it pertains to bus and parent drop-off areas. This project was part of a $74.9 million bond program approved by Garfield School District RE-2 voters in 2006.
